▍How it is computed
Difficulty read from each day's block header (the last block of the UTC day), straight from the node. Difficulty adjusts every block to hold the target spacing, so it tracks the total mining power committed to the chain.
▍How to read it
At a fixed block time, difficulty is proportional to network solve-rate — so this is the honest shape of Zcash's hashrate over time. The step in late 2019 is Blossom halving the block time.
