▍How it is computed

Total serialised block bytes that day divided by blocks mined. The 2 MB cap is marked.

▍How to read it

Shielded transactions are 5–10× the size of transparent ones, so block size tracks privacy use more than transaction count. Blocks were under 5% full for most of the chain's history.
